Driving Through the Night
We drive through the night,
the light shines ahead of us
The roar of the engine is
more silence than sound
I only feel the breath of the friends around me
Which brushes warmly against my face,
and I see them one by one and
Someone hums, someone smokes
Someone sleeps and wakes up again
And says something to me
I startle from my thoughts:
That nothing is so beautiful and is lonely
Like riding through the night
That is endless and peaceful
While you wait for me
Now feelings and thoughts are one

Are we small and huge,
as big and as small
That I am hungry and tired,
and that never more passes
And that it's not bad,
that makes it worth it
