Blue Sky Pie including stu

Stu was a kind boy grew up in our little town,
Loved to dress up like an actress in the movies at dad’s theater,
where Stu ran sight and sound.
But oh boy, how were we to know?
just how our native son could grow.
Slowly Stu unfolded as a sweet transgender man,
His heart remained the same to us, though some don’t understand.
But oh lord, who are we to say?
We’re all doing our best just trying to make our way, yeah.
But it seemed the world wasn’t ready for the first transgender mayor,
‘til a handful of out-of-town evangelicals came protesting in prayer.
Well they shouted and spat, and they held signs that said, “God hates fags!”
and “God hates Stu!” “And while we’re at it brother, God might even hate you, too!”
We couldn’t take it anymore..
So grandpa put a dress on, and Granny had on Gramp’s pants.
Then the whole town joined in to show that clothes don’t really make the human.
200 men, women, and children dressed in drag, yeah
And Grandma sang out loud and true, she said, “Doesn’t your God love everyone
Including you?” “C’mon!”, she said, “Now God bless everyOne of us,
Including Stu”
Stu’s still that kind boy and he’s the mayor of our town.
