Coyote Bill left his wife at home
Packed up his axe and then hit that old dirt road
Now he's mining for something more than gold
His wife went crazy when she read his note
He left her nothing she lost their home
Now she's crying cause she got nowhere to go
Coyote Bill received some real bad news
He owed men money for his gambling and booze
Now he's running cause he's got nothing left to lose
His head is clouded from anger and moonshine
He dried out in the sun and he's nearly lost his mind
If he's not lucky he'll be mining til the end of time
If I keep on digging I'll find solace in this Earth
