those stairs to the void we greedily climbed
we reached heights beyond words
we looked into chasms that mortals can't see
statues make their way to the cold road
in honor of the sunset
flags in their hands
are stiffened in the wind
many a golden carriage
with its dead driver
falls to the last ray
in the frozen landscape
the devil smiles, he too loves his kind
the prince of time anoints great popularity
the clock doesn't stop even if the wearer's time runs out
the smile doesn't freeze, it's paralyzed on the face
