The Hero's Ballad
He had left to go to war
to help his land
they had given him the insignia and stars
and the advice to sell one's life dearly
and when they told him to carry on
he went too far to seek the truth 
now that he is dead the country boasts
of another hero to the memory
but she who loved him was waiting for the return
of a living soldier, what will she do with a dead hero
if he is next to her in bed What remains is the glory
of a medal in memory.
