There's a testimony on the inside of you
God wants to glorify himself through you
All the hurts and all the pains
All the broken pieces
They are the backdrop for your story
The foundation of your testimony
But God will bring you through
It's rough, it's rocky
Your tears have almost all dried up
And you feel like you don't even want to see tomorrow
All your strength and everything that sustains you, seems to have up and left your very being
Why!!? In your heart you cry out to God
Why!!? Why me? Why now? Why again
How am I supposed to survive this?
How am I supposed to recover?
I'm tired
I'm exhausted
I'm at the end of my rope
God I gave you my life
I dedicated myself to your service
Is this how you repay me
My spirit's shattered into a billion pieces
Tiny Tiny tiny little pieces
And who's going to put me back together again
Is it my turn to speak He whispers softly
As He stretches his hands towards you, gently lifting your chin
Taking your gaze off the situation and unto his face
Look at me He says
I love you
And there is always purpose behind the things I allow you to go through
And never think for a moment that you're walking through it alone
Never!
Who or what can separate you from my love?
Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine, nakedness, danger or sword
Impossible
Even in the valley of the shadow of death
There I am with you and I am bringing you through
I see the broken pieces
I am writing your story
I allowed the smashing
And I, the great physician
Jehovah Rophe, the balm in gilead
Will heal you and rebuild you for my glory
I am putting you back together again
And I am fashioning you for a time that is yet ahead
I am teaching you to depend on me
To rely on me, to seek strength and stability in me
To rest in the vastness of my love for you
Even when things seem to be falling apart
Know that my love for you pushes me to push you to your best self
I see you when you cry
I've counted and recorded the number of tears this season has brought you
But remember who orchestrates and authorizes for seasons to change
Your love for me means that you have held up your end of the bargain
And I must work out all these seemingly dreadful events for your good
And being the faithful God that I am
That is exactly what I plan to do
Don't allow despair to blind you
Don't allow the pain to numb you
See me for who I am
Your heavenly father whose love for you
Pushes me to go out of my way just for you
Feel the love that I'm embracing you with
This rough patch is not your last patch
There is beauty just around the corner
