And what I saw was humanity...
And what I saw was stupidity
According to human inclination
Animal behavior
I waited all day
And just saw people passing me by

My path takes me to yesterday
On the road of time

Betrayed and disappointed
And early in their lives

And what I saw was stupidity

The great age of the Greeks
And the hope of these people
Their courage and their strength
Filled me on my way
For the first time with joy

I lay down
Before the walls of Athens

I see the young people
