here i lay upon my dying pillow
round my bed i see those tear dimmed eyes
they are watching the saddest thing that can happen
they are seeing a sinner as he dies
as death's cold shadows hover o'er me
to old sinners i plead with my last breath
don't shun the word of god that's what i've done

no one knows until they have to face it
just how bad a sinner's death can be
i am facing it now as i live over
