The simple principle of life
That when I try to do what is right

I struggle daily again and again
As I pursue your glory
Faithfulness is a myth
Righteousness is a lie
I will never succeed
On my own
And all the times that I fall short
I come to you
And all the times that I lose hope
I come to you, my refuge
Your perfection in my place
A substitute for my disgrace
Giving up yourself so that
I walk free
A doubter and a pessimist
I know I'll always be
But I'm learning how to live the life
That was meant for me
Nothing good dwells within
The true nature of thee
But oh what a relief and oh what a comfort
That from condemnation I have been set free
