Gently Whispering Your Name
There were times for us when things went well
Like we had always been that way;
And times, as well, that weren’t so good –
We wondered if we’d last the day.
And now as we draw to an end –
Seems those good times are all gone.
Wish we knew much better how –
To bring those good times back again.
Still through us came two new lives –
Who love and live their times their way –
And who help us see how much –
Help us see so very much -
We’re both still learning every day.
Now, even when I think I’m not thinking about you –
I find myself gently whispering your name –
Yes, even when I think I’m not dreaming about you –
I find myself gently whispering your name.
But now as we draw to an end –
Seems those good times are all gone.
Wish we knew much better how –
To bring those good times back again.
And find the peace that we could bring –
That eased our pain and helped us sing –
And let us find out who we were –
And brought us close in everything.
