It’ll All Be Over By Christmas
It’ll be all over by Christmas – that’s what I’ve heard them say –
It’ll be all over by Christmas – and we’ll all come home to stay.
It’ll be all over by Christmas – no (more) fighting, no hunger, no need –
It’ll be all over by Christmas – and all of the world will be freed.
There’ll be dancing and singing and bells will be ringing,
As people hold hands and they swear–
To end all their fighting and work with each other –
And all the earth’s treasures to share.
No one will now shout that their country’s more clout –
Than anyone else’s around.
Children’s hands will hold food and never more weapons –
And love will be everywhere found.
No leaders will rule and treat us like fools –
And tell what we should (do) or not do.
For each will discover that love for all others –
Is all that we want – me and you.
