Why Can’t They Leave The Stone Alone?
They churn, they turn, they break, they burn –
And use the food of Mother Earth –
To plunder that which since its birth –
Has been laid down below.
They plunder it and take it home –
Why can’t they leave the stone alone?
They claim, they tame they sell, they blame –
The motorways that help to speed –
And the Barrier they hope has freed –
Us from a future flood to come.
They plunder it – strip it to the bone –
Why can’t they leave the earth alone?
