Won’t you be my friend – won’t you hold my hand?
Won’t you walk with me – help me understand?
All the mystery – surrounding you and me –

Where you’re going to means more to me than where you’re from;
And what your creed may be or what you think is right or wrong.
Whatever road you’re travelling – we can walk it till its end –
And share all of our experience and be to each a friend…
When you walk beside me you help me to be strong –
You show me where I’m right and the times you think I’m wrong.
So together we’ll go forward – the two of us as one –
Until there’s more between us than we had when we begun…
When finally we’ve walked far enough along the trail –
And know each other well enough to smile if we should fail;
When we meet with others who are also on the way –
