Your Dreams…
Though I’ll remember always - everything we’d ever do –
Your place is not here with me – and mine is not with you.
Much as I loved being near you – much as I deeply care –
Your dreams are just beginning – and mine are way past there…
I remember when we met and thought that time had just stood still –
It seemed all we ever did then - would go on and on until –
The very end of everything – at least for me and you–
And then go right back to when we met – and start again anew.
And then came two brand new lives - springing out from me and you –
The joy they gave us every day - made the pains seem very few.
Who could tell how they play as less than willing foes –?
In the way we both grew different then and compounded all our woes.
