Just a Phone Call Away
I see your busy tying off all your lose ends.
I suppose then that today is the day.
I wish you'd take time to call your old friends and tell them goodbye.
Then we'll shake hands and you'll fly away.
I remember the day that you were born.
I was so thankful that your mom was ok.
And when visiting hours were over,
the nurse said I'd have to go.
But don't worry, She's just a phone call away.
I thought I call that night and tell her that I loved her.
And how proud she made me on this day.
I know I should have.
Oh, but I couldn't bother.
Even though she's just a phone call away.
My father was wintering down in West Palm.
And If I'd kept in touch I might have know just what was wrong.
They sent him home on the weekend.
We buried him on Monday.
On such a cold, cold November day.
I couldn't see what I wasn't giving.
I talk to him now, more and more every day.
I wish I'd told him that I loved him
while he was living.
But, he's no longer just a phone call away.
So when your lonely on a warm summer's evening.
And back at home here it's a cold winters day.
Don't just think we're only sad while your leaving.
And remember, we're just a phone call away.
And remember, we're just a phone call
