Acrilic On Canvas
-- I miss you then.
And once again
From you I made the perfect country drawing that was created:
The traces I copied from what didn't happen.
The colors I chose, among the paints I invented
I mixed it with the promise that the two of us never made
Of one day being three.
I worked on you in light and shadow.
It was always:
-- It wasn't bad. I swear I never
I wanted to make you so sad.
Always the same excuses
And apologies aren't always sincere --
They almost never are.
I prepared my canvas with pieces of sheets
That we didn't get dirty.
I made the frame with wood
From your bedroom window.
br/>From the gate of your house
I made a palette and an easel
And with the tears that didn't play with you
I distilled linseed oil
And I tore pieces from your bed
Which I carved into stilettos
Of different sizes
And then I made
Brushes with your hair.
I made charcoal of the lipstick I stole from you
And with it I marked two vanishing points
And I scribbled my horizon.
It was always:
-- It wasn't bad. I swear it wasn't meant badly.
I didn't mean to hurt you: I promise it will never
Happen again.
And it was always, always the same again --
The same betrayal.
Sometimes it's hard to forget:
-- I'm sorry, she doesn't live here anymore.
But then Why do I pretend to believe in what I invent?
None of this happened like that -- it wasn't like that.
No one suffered: it's only you who causes this empty longing
Trying to paint these flowers with the name
Pansy and don't-you-forget-me.
