A Hundred Things
There Are A Hundred Things…
There are a hundred things that I would do –
If I could be once more with you;
I’d haunt the places that we have been –
I’d visit the homes that we lived in.
I’d sing the songs we used to sing –
I’d savour the joy you used to bring;
I’d do the things that make you smile –
I’d wander round your mind awhile.
I’d ask you what you saw for me –
And ask whose future you could see.
I’d not do the things that hurt you then –
Instead I’d try to find out when
That I could do the things to give –
That anything would need to live.
So I could spend more time with you –
And do the things you’d want to do.
There are a thousand things that I would do –
To be again alone with you.
I’d make sure all I ever did –
Was open to you and nothing hid.
And anything that’d make you cry –
I’d never do, at least I’d try.
To give you all that you gave me –
So you would always ever be –
As happy now as when we first met –
When all we needed we’d always get.
I’d care for you as best I could –
And do with you the things I should.
There are a million things I should have done –
To keep both you and I as one.
And if I had our time again –
I’d know just where – I’d know just when.
I’d know the things I’d have to do –
To keep us forever me and you.
