Going Home
I want to lose that anger – I want to lose that pain –
I want to go back where – I think I started, again.
I want to lose that tension – I want to lose that stress
I want to say ‘no’ much less - and instead say ‘yes’.
To do all that I know I have to find my home,
And learn to be myself right there and sometimes be alone.
But try as I might I can’t yet find where that should be –
Used to think it was the time when we were ‘you and me’.
But one day I know I’ll find it and then I will know –
All the places I’ve been looking at I didn’t have to go.
All the time I’ve ever wasted - always trying to find –
For the time I have left I know will bring me peace of mind.
I keep wondering where it is – that place I’ll call my ‘home’,
It seems wherever I have been - all I’ve done is roam!
And if it turns out that place is right here it’ll have to do–
And the person I’ve been looking for is no one else but you.
