As empty-eyed they fall in line and do as they are told
Never question as they give themselves away
Such a shame: pretty people, perfect dreams
And all get wasted on lesser things
I can’t believe so many would follow behind
In the wake of a sinking ship
So believe me when I tell you
That I will not be told how to think
Or follow the trend
It sinks them all, and I will not be tangled in.
I’ve heard enough of the advert
Projecting how our lives should be
They offer me so willingly the rags that they have worn
And promise me a greatness that I never have received
Such a shame, this seductive game
I only thought we would be playing
