In the fifties
I was living on the Isle of Skie in the west of Scotland at that time
I recorded these big sessions of euphoric cries mixed with ghost voices.
I made a device with a wooden recorder that I called sanglophone
Just a small box, like a ©harmonica case, but on my scale.
I added a mechanical trick allowing the recorded sound to be replayed
By bringing the hands more or less close to the box
Left hand for sound level, right hand for tone, it was a lot of fun
I have entire cassettes filled with sobs and of ghost voices...
