Tenderlore birdwatching

Sometimes I look back upon my days at school
Heavy in the knowledge, what my teachers said was true
Despite my best efforts, these were the happiest days I knew
Life sows a bad seed and bids you look to the ground
While visions and fears of rising seas abound
There’s nothing like the sky to ease a restless mind
Nature soars up around me and flees towards the sun
I try to follow, pretending, like I was young
Remembering days spent birdwatching, learning the songs they sung
But now I must wait, and hope for it to be
I too will live so vicariously, always hiding
Living life through the lens of another
I’ll turn to one of the world’s stranger creeds
Remove myself from people and their needs
To waste and starve ‘til I see and understand
But now I must wait, and hope for it to be
I too will live so vicariously, always hiding
Living life through the lens of another
What’s wrong with birdwatching?
What’s wrong with being alone?
