Hel der ate mann

Winter lowers its tired head
Lays it in the lap of spring light
Two ravens rise in the fog
The old man's gaze goes with them
He has already counted so many winters holds
The years full of life made him tough
He walked through storms and bitter cold
Has seen many a loyal friend go
So run together
All of them Ways of life
After listening to the spheres around me
The day gives the night its strength
Walks over the threshold to the next door
Now I wait until that Flood directs me
He taught the son to write the runes
To forge the blade in fire and ice
He taught him to recognize nature
As his father did long ago
And now he looks to the horizon
Waves carry his thoughts far away
Soon he too will move with them
His future moves with the tide
[Refr. :]
He has seen the edge of the sky
Fiery craters and mountains of ice
He has seen the edge of the world
Places that no light has ever touched
