I saw the world was turning
the guilt inside was yearning
i put my hand into
the vision pit and drew
between sleeping and dreaming
i woke up, more or less,
before my vision quest
between wanting and needing
my eyes so tired, my vision blurred
is this that place where i have returned?
i'm kneeling
i'm reeling
a witness of solitude
the honour and the virtue gone
just tears that kiss the hungry stone
i bought the starving food
i ended wars and moved
between sleeping and dreaming
i flew to orpheus
i found i'd turned to dust
between morning and evening
my head so full, my hearing gone
shut in the dark i was not so alone
i'm praying
i'm waiting
forgiveness, in excess; hope
within these walls no window frame
just bars that lock in all of this pain
i put my thoughts into
the vision pit i knew
between sleeping and dreaming
if this is paradise
i've lived another life
between staying and leaving...
...between wanting and needing
between morning and evening
between sleeping and dreaming...
