I fought homelessness for so long
For years a placeless ghost
Using walls of layered thickness
To stray from the bare bones
Stripped down Iâll search the rubble
I havenât dug this deep before
These hands are far too clean to know
What they are looking for
But this is my wreck, and nothing will go unturned
As I dig into the rubble and pieces of bridges burned
These unused hands carry everything they can
Then Iâll finally know; maybe then Iâll understand
I fought homelessness for so long
For years a placeless ghost
And ideas I havenât sold are
Whatâs left of my aging soul
Iâve fought homelessness for so long
For years a placeless ghost
But I finally found the answer
Iâll stop searching and build my home
My own, my own home
This is everything
Everything to me
