The Warren G. Hardings drifting

I envy the water
for it knows where It's going
gravity pulls it back towards the ocean
every single time
It knows where Its home is
Its purpose is clear
fall down to earth so life can continue
Then disappear back into the atmosphere
well I'm just left thinking what the hell am I doing here
And Oh
I feel like I am drifting
Like I am swimming
against the waves
I have no say in where I'm going
Or if I'll even
make it to shore someday
I envy the fishes
for life seems so simple
I'll swim for awhile
and then I might eat
then I think I'll call it a day
it may have no memory
at least that's what I hear
Imagine living
From moment to moment
without the fear
parting sorrow or tears
completely content until a bigger fish comes near
And Oh
I feel like I am drifting
Like I am swimming
against the waves
I have no say in where I'm going
Or if I'll even
make it to shore someday
I envy the coral
for It's steadfast and strong
It's made Its decision
It's planted Its roots
and it will not be moved
If I was like coral
I would make up my mind
find a place to settle down and die
I feel like I am drifting
like I am swimming
against the waves
I have no say in where I'm going
or if I'll even
make it to shore someday
oh I feel like I am drifting
like I am swimming
against the waves
I have no say in where I'm going
or if I'll even
make it to shore someday.
