We didn't go to class that whole first week
We were busy makin' bunk beds and fake IDs
I was happy with a 2.3 my freshman year
My dad paid the balance on my Exxon card
So every time I stopped to fill up my car
I'd get five burritos and two cases of beer
We were playin' Alabama
And everyone was makin' the trip
Well I was supposed to work that weekend
Said, I just quit!
I don't know why
It's called higher education
It's more like a paid vacation
At least it was for me
Cause I was blowin' through my family savings
But lookin' back now it's amazin'
Cause all we did was see how
Little we could study
And how much we could drink
You could lead a boy to college
But you can't make him think
I never will forget that one spring break
When we didn't have money or a place to stay
But drove down anyway to Daytona Beach
We met a couple girls as soon as we got there
They were both ugly but we didn't care, cause
It beat the hell out of sleepin' in my buddy's Jeep
The hotel wasn't very nice, but it worked out great
Cause it was right next door to an Exxon station
And that's where we ate
I don't know why
It's called higher education
It's more like a paid vacation
At least it was for me
Cause I was blowin' through my family savings
But lookin' back now it's amazin'
Cause all we did was see how
Little we could study
And how much we could drink
You could lead a boy to college
But you can't make him think
When I look back on those days I just laugh
I'd say it was the best four years of my life
But it was five and a half
It's called higher education
It's more like a paid vacation
At least it was for me
Cause I was blowin' through my family savings
But lookin' back now it's amazin'
Cause all we did was see how
Little we could study
And how much we could drink
You can lead a boy to college
But you can't make him think
