Do you know what rhymes
everything comes to an end
no idea but it's something about disappearing
just without you
doesn't rhyme with wedding
yet I love you
how can that be rhymed
do you know how we used to
on a warm summer evening
rarely did I later see so much beauty in the water
as on such an evening there at the sea with the two of us
stand still for a moment
just act and look at me
strange that I don't know what to say anymore
all I feel
is your gaze that is cold and cool
looks through me, no
there is nothing to explain
so much that we shared
how many thousand images do you see
if you close your eyes for a moment
in the sixties I was barely twenty you see
look back
because we are going backwards
nobody is perfect
you say softly while laughing
at the haste with which I want to say goodbye
I went away more than once
it is not the first time
that I flee from the routine and the problems
do you know how we used to
on a warm summer evening
often the two of us went swimming in the sea
rarely did I later see
so much beauty in the water
as on such an evening there at the sea with all of us two
